Fame and Fable - Legend Pledge

You are a hero with an empty ledger and a hunger for renown. The land is crawling with beasts, the taverns are full of would-be companions for hire, and the townsfolk are posting contracts for anyone brave enough to take them. Recruit allies, gather enchanted items and go monster hunting, because in this world fame is the only currency that outlives you. When the dust settles, only one adventurer's name becomes a fable.

Game Mechanics

A competitive card battler for 1–4 players that blends hand management, action selection and push-your-luck into 45–90 minute sessions.

• Three actions per turn, plus a bonus action for every empty moon space between you and the leader — falling behind buys you more to work with.
• Spend actions to recruit allies and items from the market; allies then deploy for free.
• Deployed allies attack for free and carry unique traits; items are single-use and often decisive.
• Engage monsters of difficulty 1–10, or gamble on legends of difficulty 11–20.
• Fulfil contracts from the market for bonus fame, or spend your turn disrupting a rival.
• Allies exhaust once used — ready them with cards, with moon tokens, or by waiting for a rival to pass.

Every deed earns fame and moves your piece along the fame track, past bonus tokens and legend spaces that drag you into fights you did not plan. The game ends the moment someone passes the champion token; everyone else gets one final turn, and whoever stands farthest along the track is remembered as a legend.

What Makes It Special

Fame and Fable distils the tabletop RPG down to the part everyone retells afterwards: the fight. Your party grows as the game goes on, the beasts get bigger, and the only question that ever matters is whether you are strong enough yet — no prep, no notes, nothing to set up beyond the market. It is the pleasure of a long campaign night, condensed into an hour.
